We are proud of our armed forces and honoured to have been given the opportunity to support the men and women who are currently serving or have served our country in uniform.

As an approved learning provider for the MoD (Ministry of Defence), London College of Professional Studies is authorised to provide ELCAS (Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme) funded courses and study packages to serving members of HM Armed Forces and those who have recently left the Royal Navy, the Royal Marines, the British Army, or the Royal Air Force.

The MoD’s Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme is an initiative to create lifelong learning opportunities to current and former members of the Armed Forces, so whether you are still in uniform or have recently left the military, you might be eligible for funded study (click on the link to check if you are eligible and how much funding you can get https://www.enhancedlearningcredits.com).

What is ELCAS?

The Enhanced Learning Credits Administration Service (ELCAS) is a UK government-funded scheme that supports the lifelong learning of members of the UK Armed Forces and ex-service personnel. ELCAS provides financial assistance in the form of training grants and credits to help individuals cover the cost of approved training courses, allowing them to gain new skills and knowledge to support their transition into civilian life.

The program is managed by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) and provides eligible service personnel with funding of up to £2,000 per year, for up to three years, to cover the cost of vocational training and education courses. The aim is to help military personnel and veterans develop new skills and qualifications that will help them in their post-service careers. The program is intended to help service personnel and veterans transition smoothly into civilian life by providing them with the necessary training and qualifications to enter new careers or advance their existing ones.

How ELCAS funding works

ELCAS funding works by providing financial support to eligible members of the UK Armed Forces and ex-service personnel to cover the cost of approved training courses. The funding is provided in the form of training grants and credits.

Here is a general overview of how ELCAS funding works:

  1. Eligibility: To be eligible for ELCAS funding, you must be a member of the UK Armed Forces or an ex-service personnel who has been in service for a minimum of six years.
  2. Approved Courses: ELCAS funding is only available for approved training courses, which are listed on the ELCAS website. These courses are typically vocational or academic courses that will help you develop new skills and knowledge relevant to your civilian career.
  3. Funding Limitations: ELCAS funding covers up to 80% of the total cost of an approved course, up to a maximum of £2,000 per financial year, for up to three years. The remaining 20% of the course fee must be paid by you or your employer.
