The Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme supports eligible members of the Armed Forces community with higher-level learning. LCPS offers a focused selection of approved courses for serving personnel, those preparing for resettlement and eligible veterans.
Our team can help you compare course levels, understand study expectations and choose a qualification that supports your civilian career plans. Eligibility and claim approval remain with the MOD through the official ELCAS process.
Using your learning credits
Plan the course before you make the claim
ELCAS claims must follow the official process. These steps help you prepare, while your Education Staff or Single Service Representative confirms eligibility and authorises the claim.

Check your eligibility
Confirm your scheme membership, available entitlement and claim window with your Education Staff or Single Service Representative.

Choose an approved course
Compare the LCPS qualifications listed for ELCAS and speak to us if you need help identifying the right level or subject.

Submit your claim
Apply through the official ELCAS route in advance. Retrospective claims are not permitted and approval is required before study begins.
- 04
Provide your CAN
Once authorised, give LCPS your Claim Authorisation Note and pay the required personal contribution before the course starts.
Check that both LCPS and your chosen course appear on the current ELCAS approved listing. Funding levels, eligibility and deadlines are governed by the MOD’s current rules.
