Refund Policy for International Students Only
Purpose
This refund policy outlines the conditions under which students may be eligible for a refund of tuition, fees, and other charges upon withdrawal from London College of Professional Studies. The policy ensures fair treatment for students while balancing the institution’s financial needs.
1. Eligibility for Refund
A student may be eligible for a refund of tuition and fees under the following conditions:
- In case a student’s visa is refused by Home Office
- Withdrawal within the 14 days cooling off period, from the date of enrolment.
- Extenuating circumstances at the discretion of the college
2. No Refund Due to Misleading Intentions or Voluntary Withdrawal
- Misleading Intentions: If a student misleads the college regarding their intention to come to the UK and later fails to attend or withdraws without valid reasons, no refund will be issued. This includes cases where the student has provided false information or has not adhered to the terms agreed upon during the application and enrollment process.
- Voluntary Withdrawal Before the Start Date: If a student voluntarily withdraws or fails to attend the college before the start of the semester, no refund will be issued. This includes students who decide not to attend after confirming their enrollment and paying tuition fees.
3. Visa Refusal Refund Policy
- Visa Refusal: In the event that a student’s visa application is refused by the relevant authorities, the student will be eligible for a refund of tuition fees, provided the refusal is the sole reason for the withdrawal. Refunds will only be granted if the student submits an official copy of the visa refusal notice from the embassy or consulate. The following conditions apply:
- The student must request a refund within 30 days from the visa refusal date. If a student files the refund request after 30 days from the date of refusal the college holds the right to refuse the refund or deduct charges as appropriate.
-
The refund will be processed after verification of the visa refusal documentation.
- Non-refundable Fees: The registration fee and the administrative fee of £500 will not be refunded, even in the case of visa refusal.
4. Special Circumstances
- Students who withdraw due to medical or other hardship circumstances, disability etc. Students must submit appropriate documentation (e.g., medical certificate, hospital records) to support their claim for a medical or hardship withdrawal.
-
This would be at the discretion of the college and will be assessed on case-by-case basis.
5. Processing Refunds
- Refund Processing Time: Refunds will typically be processed within 28 working days from the date of sending the relevant documents.
-
Method of Refund: Refunds will be issued via bank transfer to the original account initially used for payment and may be applied to any outstanding balance the student owes to the college.
6. Appeals Process
If a student believes they are entitled to a refund not outlined in this policy, they may submit a written appeal to International Admissions office. The appeal must include a detailed explanation of the circumstances and any supporting documentation. The college will review the appeal and determine the appropriate action.
7. Exceptions
London College of Professional Studies reserves the right to make exceptions to this refund policy in exceptional or extenuating circumstances. Any exceptions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
