Withdrawal Policy

Withdrawal Policy

London College of Professional Studies (LCPS) is committed to maintaining academic excellence and ensuring the success of our learners. This Withdrawal Policy has been established to provide clear guidelines regarding withdrawal procedures, emphasizing both inactivity and academic performance. It is imperative for all LCPS students to be familiar with the conditions under which withdrawal may occur, promoting transparency, fairness, and a conducive learning environment.

The withdrawal process may be initiated in cases of consistent academic failure or prolonged inactivity.

Inactivity on the Course

Inactivity is defined as a sustained lack of engagement in course-related activities for a prolonged period. This encompasses a failure to log into the portal, non-participation in scheduled classes or sessions, and the omission of assignment or assessment submissions. The aim is to ensure that students actively contribute to and benefit from the educational opportunities provided.

In the event of inactivity, a reminder will be sent to the student’s registered email address.  If the student fails to provide a satisfactory explanation for the absence from the course, the student will be withdrawn from the course after the third reminder.

The withdrawal process will adhere to the guidelines stipulated by the awarding body.

Academic Performance

LCPS is committed to fostering academic success and providing students with the necessary support to thrive in their studies. Consistent failure to meet academic expectations may lead to the initiation of the withdrawal process.

In the event of assignment failure, the students will receive detailed feedback to guide their improvement. If a student does not demonstrate satisfactory progress and fails the same assignment for the second time, a formal warning will be issued. Should inadequate academic performance persist despite this final warning, the student may face withdrawal from the course.

Refunds

In no circumstances will there be a refund if a student is withdrawn from the course.

Re-enrolment

Re-enrolment after withdrawal will be at the discretion of the college, and the student must meet the criteria. Students who wish to re-enrol after withdrawal may do so by paying a re-enrolment fee of £250. Re-enrolled students will be subject to the current academic policies and guidelines in place at the time of re-enrolment.
