Overview

The purpose of the Functional Skills Mathematics Level 1 qualification is to demonstrate both mathematical skills at the appropriate level and the ability to apply mathematical thinking effectively to solve problems successfully in the workplace and in other real-life situations.

The NCFE Level 1 Functional Skills Qualification in Mathematics is a nationally recognised qualification designed to develop practical mathematical skills for everyday life, work, and further education. This course helps learners build confidence in using mathematics to solve real-world problems, interpret information, and make informed decisions in both personal and professional settings.

Equivalences

Functional Skills Mathematics Level 1 is equivalent to GCSE grades 1–3 and provides an excellent pathway for learners who wish to progress to Level 2 Functional Skills Mathematics or enhance their employment and study opportunities.
